Company G " Alleghany [sic] Rangers" was from Union County. Company E "Towns County Rangers" was from Towns County. Company H "Fannin Rifles" was from Fannin County. Mail from home was normally addressed in care of their Regimental Commnder. Note: Confederate stamps were cancelled by marking through them. Also, ten cents to mail a letter when Army pay for a Private was $11:00 per month. Letters from soldiers were franked for free.
